I was named after her and oh how I miss her terribly.
I have soooo many memories from my childhood during Christmas of her. She always made sure that each grandchild (there are 6 of us grandchildren) had an equal amount of gifts. Even as adults she continued that and she would get the Great-Grandchildren an equal amount of gifts as well.
But it was more that just the presents.......I will never forget the time that she made my Dad go out shopping on Christmas Eve because it was "tradition". We lived in Virgina at the time and would go to ATL to spend our Christmas break at my Grandparents. My Dad would go out every year on Christmas Eve to get my Mom her Christmas gifts. Well....one year he actually got my MOm something before we left Virgina. My Grandmother looked at My Dad and said "Alan, aren't you going out shopping?" My Dad said that he had already gotten his shopiing done. My Grandmother told my Dad that he HAD to go out shopping because it was tradition. And with that my Dad left to go shopping...even though he didn't actually NEED to.... We all laughed.
My Grandmother's house was full of people....laughter....and hot... but we had a blast playing ping-pong in the basement, playing board games upstairs, eating good food, taking naps, laughing and just enjoying everyone.
I miss her soo much.....
But I know that she was looking down on all of us enjoying the same things that we enjoyed as children.
Sooo my point is that even when we get busy remember those that are no longer with us because they always remembered us....Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-42926626546088967022010-10-07T10:10:00.000-07:002010-10-07T10:22:28.292-07:00Busy Hectic LifeSoooo.....life for the past several months have been CRAZY.
In August I started another semester of grad school which I was prepared for since I took the summer off from school. Howvever, A week after the semester began I tore my maniscus in my knee at my neighbor's kids birthday party. 2 words inflatable waterslide. Tyler and I were at the bottom and my other neighbor's daughter (did I mention she is 13) was almost at the top when she slipped and started sliding back down the little rubber steps. Needless to say her foot hit right below my knee. I heard the snap. So I couldn't drive for about a month. Have to wear a very aggravating leg brace. Had surgery.....but all is well on that front.

Tyler started soccer. It is soo cute watching him play. Now I know what my parent's felt when they watched me play sports. I just want him to do well and have fun at the same time. I just can't believe that my little boy is 4. Man how time does fly when you are having fun.

Right now I just feel very blessed. My job is shaky. I work with childrn that have mental illness (ADHA, anger management issues, you name it) For about 2 months I worked with the adult population. Man oh man do I ever feel blessed to have a "normal" life and not have to deal with having a diagnosed mental illness. Then they moved me back to working with by "babies" again only to tell us that there will not be any more child and adolescent program sooo back to adults I go. I am not happy about this. I am thankful for a job but I want a job that I enjoy. Right now there are not any openings for elementary teachers in my area.

On a positive note, I do have a wonderful family that I could not be happier to be apart of. I have 2 of the silliest boys on this planet. But as much as they drive me nuts they make me laugh and smile even more. I have a wonderful husband that I love dearly. He makes me feel happy, loved, and I can just be me. I have some wonderful friends that again I can just be me. I don't have to be fake or anything else they are my friends because I am ME. It is soo nice to finally have that. Sooo until next time. Live well, Laugh often, and love deeply. *Muah*Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-39256157936021832942010-04-13T04:47:00.000-07:002010-04-13T04:53:53.870-07:00Kids say the most sincere things.Last night Tyler was being overly sweet to Me and Tory. Mostly becase the night before he was a complete pill(due to No nap). I was giving Tyler a bath and he was telling me of a story his teacher told him at Daycare earlier in the day about when she called her Mom stupid when she was a young girl. Tyler was telling me what would happen to him if he ever called me stupid. So here is how the conversation went.

Tyler: Ms Terri called her Mom a Stupid Mommy when she was a little girl.

Me: Really, Well that was not very nice.

Tyler: Yep and she got a spanking like this (Showing me how she got a spanking on the hiney).

Me: And what do you think would happen if you ever called me stupid.

Tyler: I would get a spanking like Ms. Terri did.

Me: That's right because calling people stupid is not nice
So now we are in his room getting him dressed in his jammies

Tyler: And you can't say other bad words like "Oh Shit" or stupid right Mommy.

Me: That's right you can say Oh Snap

Tyler: can I say oh swipey

Me: Yes you can.

Tyler: YOu can't have a potty mouth. It's not nice

Me: That's right buddy

Tyler: I love you Mommy

Me: I love you too buddy

So how do you not laugh at that conversation while it is happening and have a straight face. I tell you it is very hard to do.Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-28370535650446108832010-04-13T04:40:00.001-07:002010-04-13T04:46:45.439-07:00Wrestling MatchTyler and Landon were sooo cute the other night. They were playing in the front yard and they were "wrestling" with each other. Well Landon was laying on the grass and Tyler was more or less sitting on Landon's legs. Landon thought it was very funny. Tyler would play patty-cake with Landon. Landon would just cackle with laughter. THen Tyler would lean over Landon and hug his baby brother and Landon would pat Tyler on the head. It was too precious. I tool some pictures of the little rascles. Hope you enjoy.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnRQXkrahPXXPhEisp94u-LecKcPcPBuszSWrWG01-m-NmnyVQrPdklFlDypp-2o2_h9B9QzRG1VnuQdoZH4tt8kJ7iWIuJ5wHxmo_-qy5axCj9DHsCQebGTUIB8T6YF2bsG-MXXYN-aM/s320/wrestling+match.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459586938107733522" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnUsI_4H07lOFxrJcjcmUVe3_84pWNBU8Fq2bD1x-aRxSi4hCrtsnnZMNosk7MMx6tR2Pf1AdrVjYId0TQ52Ra-wYGnjU4iz3c3O3Y0BtqtSBaPGsdWgmoXjWZbiibBp4DnxJahmSd0ws/s320/Tyler+and+Landon.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459586928446946034" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsGsx4WbYZZPg9HYF6IeYDKQDvw9eRxdJcfHkiELd9pHUHlOBHLoHIwzq1LMtTwhz6nqykEam720zxA9fau9nxKQv6J-2E32ClBWRD2LCmc3Nro4-QVSjS1PZ1x-r6ojDFMwc97L7uFcI/s320/patty-cake.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459586922930796034" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZRX9algQWtMBxHYG7YZtli0CIHU7qTtb9P91SrPSmSjaCviSNC-hOEc71cmn4za5Zo0fn3Ec0-VArzRoRliGRAPWZ-qJTSQQ_USBjXsnVlSZWmVMM2JXqYyYMp-RRcwsOrPASAvV2afM/s320/Landi+and+Ty.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459586913680922834" />Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-30205933773061911572009-09-18T09:58:00.000-07:002010-04-13T06:36:29.463-07:00The Best 5 years!So this day 5 years ago I was feeling a bit nervous, and very excited. I was about to begin sharing my life with the most amazing man. Tory and were married this day 5years ago. So for my own reasons I thought I would share how we met and I fell head over heals in love. I know it's kinda mushy but I can't help it.

So I was going over to a friend's house to hang out one night (yes, a male friend) and He said that another friend was coming over to hang out as well. When he got out of the car I was taken aback mostly by how tall he was but also how cute he was and still is. So I talked to him some that night.

I didn't talk to him for a few weeks then I talked to him again at my friend's house and he was so nice. I thought to myself when I left wow he is sweet and cute.

Then I didn't see him again for a few weeks until I had to go to Home Depot to get more paint. I was painting my room at my parent's house and ran out of paint. So i I went to get more looking not very cute, I was covered in paint. Well Tory worked at Home Depot and he was helping another customer on the paint isle. He casually asked me for my phone number and I of course gave it to him.

We went out a couple of times and he was such a gentleman, and sweet. He came over to meet my parents and would come over and hang out on the back patio and just talk with me and my Mom. He again casually asked me one night if I would be his girlfriend(it was really cute).

So then we went to Statesboro for the weekend. Tory's youngest brother was a student there so we went to watch the football game on Saturday. One night we were sitting in his brother's apartment and he again casually said to me that he had a problem. I instantly became nervous because I really liked Tory and was falling for him already. Well he told me that his problem was that he was falling for me. I told him that it was okay because i was falling for him as well.

The next month we went to Atlanta to visit my best friend. We all went out to dinner and then to buckhead. That night Tory asked my what would I do if he asked me to marry him. My response was "HUH?!" He then asked me to marry him. I casually said Sure. But the rule was that we couldn't tell anyone until he made it official.

The month a few weeks before Christmas we went to Dinner with a group of friends. I was already to go because one friend was being very obnoxious due to him having a little to much to drink. So when the waitress asked if we wanted any desert or a glass of wine. I said No because I was ready to Go. Tory told the waitress that we would all have a glass of wine. When the waitress brought out the drink I noticed that my glass was different from everyone else's. And Tory was giving me this stupid looking grin. So I went to take a sip and that I noticed the RING tied by a ribbon to the stem of the glass. I looked up at him and said " I know you didn't". He took the ring off came around to where I was sitting got on one knee and asked me to marry him. i of course said yes.

We dated for 3 months when he asked me to marry him. When you know you just know. Tory is more that just my husband, he is my best friend and I am so very blessed to share my life with such an amazing person. I love him more today than I did 5 years ago. He continues to do big and little things daily that make me fall in love with him all over again everyday.

I know this is really sappy but I recently realized how much I love him when he was in the hospital for 9 days because his right lung partially collapsed. I was so scared for him because I couldn't do anything to help him ease his pain when he was hurting after the surgery. I am so thankful that he is better now.

And today is our 5 year anniversary. We went to Gaitlinburg a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary and to have a honeymoon(we didn't take one when we got married). So I just wanted to tell our story because it is kinda funny how it only took 3 months for me to realize that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with such a terrific man that at times drives me crazy but for the most part is a kind, supportive, makes me laugh when I am upset, loving man.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 255px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYL-VFVoaKiSTviYadn1_bGKuiiu6JnhxA0NnYDJ26I1JwfzAqbxP3AgLxORRWbsXtCt2A1jcYyRpiaAMUIeDPFF3tZAsxhlcbeGKfUYwMx95BtheCPE163pXJnwuo373XpS4Sm4tipUQ/s320/Tory+and+I.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5459615377822865410" />Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-41515439993109213832009-06-20T11:49:00.000-07:002009-06-20T11:54:23.373-07:00Just an UpdateOkay so It has been almost a year sine I have been on here my bad. Tyler and Tory went outside for a while. I heard some noise outside and decided to investigate what those two were up to. Tyler was standing on the walkway with the hose pipe on. We say me and said "Mommy water come out here" pointing to the end of the hose. I asked him what he was doing. He told me he was watering the flowers. He got soaking wet but had a blast. Here are some pictures.

Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-6503485097893662192008-07-10T18:07:00.000-07:002008-07-10T18:14:18.428-07:00Our Trip To LousianaWe went to Lousiana last week to see Tory's grandparents and other relatives most of which have only seen pictures of Tyler. He did very well on the long trip down there as we followed Nana and Tyler's cousins Marlie and Ryleigh. He did so well becuase he had the girls to entertain them. We had a lot of fun in Lousiana. Tyler wanted to ride the 4 wheeler that Tory's cousin had so I took him for lots of rides. We even went over the levee to see the big boats in that wer in the river. On Thursday we went to watch fireworks and Tyler sat there so still and just watched as they went up in the air. He did not jump or cry when they made the loud sound. The trip back went pretty well considering Tyler had to ride back home with just Tory and I. I would definetly call this long road trip and big success.

Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-48355626543982181602008-06-16T17:18:00.000-07:002008-06-16T17:40:50.866-07:00Tyler's Amazing ImaginationWell life has of course been interesting. Just a recap on things. I recently took several tests in orer to get accepted into the Master's Program at ASU for Education. It a very long day and well lets just say it the tests on content (Math, Science, social Studies, etc) were more difficult than I anticipated but I tried my best. But beyond that Tyler has been making me laugh and just smile. For instance tonight he was too cute. We have family photos on the fireplace mantle and Tyler can name everyone in the pictures. Well, he was in the recliner with Me and he saw a recent picture of Tyler and his cousin Caroline playing in her sandbox. Tyler said that Caroline and Me. And told him yes that it was and they were playing in a sandbox. Tyler repeated what I said ( Naturally). THen he said play with Caroline pease (please) It was so cute. He asked to play with Caroline and then he asked to go to Obert's and Pheri's (Robert and Keri) house to play with Caroline. Well he went back to playing the living room and was riding his bulldozer. He said Ty-Ty's here. I asked him where he went he said Nana bye-bye. Which means his Nana and Tyler went somewhere. When I asked him where he went his said i bought it. I asked him what he bought he said a present. He sweeped his hand across the floor to pick something imaginary up and said here Mommy present and placed the imaginary present in my hand. He did the same thing to Tory. It was so cute and fascinating to watch him play pretend already. I can't believe he will be 2 next moth. Wow!!!! how the time flies.Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-50762102285046852802008-06-02T18:30:00.000-07:002008-06-02T18:54:16.852-07:00Gandaddy's BirthdayOn Saturday we went to Robert and Keri's house to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Tyler and Caroline had so much playing together. They played so well and shared her toys as well. Tyler and Caroline also wrestled with my Mom and that was hilarious to watch. Tyler got upset when Tory went to the restroom and couldn't go in there with Daddy so Caroline got Tyler's teddy bear from the table for him so he wouldn't be so upset. It was the sweetest thing ever. Here are some pictures of Tyler and Caroline playing outside in the sandbox and playing inside as well. Enjoy.

Posted by Maggie

Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3879121207888112320.post-12472707207194321282008-05-03T18:01:00.000-07:002008-05-03T18:23:49.117-07:00Family GatheringsToday we went up to Atlanta for my cousin Lauren and her fiance Todd's engagement party. The drive up there went pretty well considering Tyler only slept for about 15 minutes up there he was not that cranky. As everyone was arriving he of course wanted to be with Grandmamma. But once he saw all the other little cousins and of course Caroline he was playing in the basement and upstairs at my cousin Sylvia's house. He had a good time and eat a good lunch. Tyler and I sat with Caroline, Robert and Keri which is always entertaining. Caroline would screech as loud as she could to make it known that she was there and of course Tyler had to make comments about him being there as well. He was eating a good lunch until Keri asked Caroline if she wanted cake. Well Tyler asked for cake too and he got it. THe drive home was quiet becuase both him and I slept all the way home while my Dad drove. We rode with my parents because Tory was not able to go, he had to work this afternoon. All in all it was a good day just long for the both of us. I enjoyed seeing cousins that I havent's seen in years and everyone looked good. Check out some of the picture from the day.
Maggie Roberthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15850144714867158412noreply@blogger.com0
